Microfinance GIS Mapping
branch coverage, borrower density & risk zones

Purpose-built GIS solutions for microfinance institutions (MFIs) — visualize branch networks, borrower concentration, portfolio risk heatmaps, and identify under-served villages for strategic expansion across India.

Capabilities

What we deliver

Branch Coverage Mapping

Visualize every branch, agent, BC point, and field officer location with service-area buffers, drive-time zones, and overlapping coverage analysis.

Borrower Density Heatmaps

Heatmaps showing active borrower concentration at village/PIN-code level — identify saturated areas vs. growth opportunities.

Portfolio Risk Zone Maps

Map default rates, PAR-30/60/90, and delinquency hotspots geographically — pinpoint problem geographies before they escalate.

Expansion & Site Selection

Data-driven branch expansion using demographic, economic, and competitor presence layers — choose the next 10 branches with confidence.

Penetration vs Potential

Compare current borrower penetration against estimated total addressable market by district — quantify untapped opportunity.

Regulatory Reporting Maps

Auto-generate RBI, NABARD, and MFIN reporting maps with geographically-tagged portfolio and outreach data.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is microfinance mapping?

Microfinance mapping is the use of GIS technology to visualize and analyse the geographic distribution of MFI operations — including branches, field officers, borrowers, loan portfolios, repayment performance, and market opportunities.

How can GIS help an MFI grow profitably?

GIS reveals which geographies have high borrower demand vs. existing supply, which branches are over-stretched, where risk is concentrated, and where the next branch should open — turning expansion from guesswork into data-driven strategy.

Can you integrate with our MIS / loan management system?

Yes. We integrate with major MFI core systems including BR.Net, Mifos, Jayam, and custom-built MIS via secure APIs to deliver near-real-time geographic dashboards.

Is the data secure? Will borrower PII be exposed?

All data is hosted in your private cloud or on-premises. Borrower PII is anonymized for analytics; only authorized roles can drill down to individual records. We follow RBI and DPDP Act 2023 data-localization requirements.

Does it work for joint liability groups (JLGs) and SHGs?

Yes. We support both individual-borrower and group-lending models — including JLG cluster mapping, SHG federation overlays, and centre-meeting geo-attendance verification.

How long to deploy a microfinance GIS dashboard?

A pilot dashboard covering 10–50 branches can go live in 3–4 weeks. Pan-India enterprise rollouts typically take 8–12 weeks including data integration, security review, and user training.
